Great skin is partially genetic but there’s a lot more to it than that. Have you ever noticed siblings where one has great skin and the other doesn’t? It’s proof that great skin has to come with a little effort. You too can have great skin by following these few important skin rules:
1. Don’t smoke. Smoking will make you age faster than you can imagine on the inside and the outside not to mention that it makes your teeth turn yellow. If all else fails, let vanity be a driving factor to put an end to this self-harming habit. Enough said. But we know it's not easy to do!
2. Wear SPF in your facial moisturizer. SPF is the key to wrinkle resistance. Make sure you wear it each and every day by wearing a facial moisturizer with SPF, regardless of the season. Even in the fall and winter months on sunny cold days, your skin can still receive the negative effects of the sun's rays. During spring and summer, when you’re out in the sun for long periods of time, wear additional sunscreen with at least 30 SPF or higher and continue to reapply every few hours.
3. Exercise often. Exercise is a good detox method for the body’s cells including skin cells. Exercise delivers your skin with fresh oxygen and increases blood-flow which nourishes your skins cells. Regularly moving your body plays an important role in your skin's health and appearance.
4. Cleanse your skin. Never sleep in makeup. It builds up on your pores and makes your skin look older. Cleanse your skin with a natural face wash at least once per day. Once in a while you may also want to take a break from makeup entirely and exfoliate. Be gentle with your skin and nourish it daily. If you do, you'll look and feel younger everyday.
